Dr. Kana is a clinical geneticist within the Division of Clinical Genetics at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada. Dr. Kana then completed a residency in pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She then pursued a fellowship in clinical genetics at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Dr. Kana is board certified in general pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, as well as the American Society of Human Genetics. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and she has presented at medical conferences. She is also the co-author of “The Adventures of Red,” an illustrated children’s book about red blood cells.
