Saibal Moitra MD, PhD, MAMS, FCCP, FICAAI, DAA

Dr. Saibal Moitra is an allergist and immunologist based in Kolkata, India. He is an Adjunct Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Allergy & Immunology at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. He is also the Medical Director of Allergy Asthma Treatment Centre, Kolkata( now known as NCD Immunomedicare Pvt Ltd). He completed his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi with distinction in 1997. Thereafter he did his MD in Respiratory Medicine from Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi in 2001. His further advanced training was at the University of London, where he started his work in the field of respiratory allergy. He returned to India to join the University of Calcutta and continued his work on allergy to tropical pollen grains at the Cellular and Molecular Immunology Laboratory of Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata which resulted in obtaining a PhD in Physiology ( Immunology) from the University of Calcutta. He developed an animal model of allergic airway disease to study the mechanisms of allergen immunotherapy for which he was awarded the V Raju award by the Indian College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
