Dr. Saib Khogali is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Heart & Lung Centre, New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He was appointed as one of a team of specialist Consultants and has helped to start and establish a coronary angioplasty/stenting program and the treatment of emergency patients, in a large dedicated Heart and Lung Centre with cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Khogali has also set up and established a Transoesophageal echocardiography (specialized heart scan) service previously unavailable at New Cross Hospital.

Dr. Khogali is trained in general and interventional cardiology. A specialist in coronary intervention, he has held interventional posts at The University Hospital, Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, and University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire. Prior to completing his interventional training, Dr. Khogali was a BHF-funded Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford & John Radcliffe Hospital.

His research interest was the molecular genetics of Cardiomyopathies and currently potential molecular markers of in-stent re-stenosis after coronary angioplasty. He recently undertook an Interventional fellowship at San Raphaele & Columbus Hospitals, Milan, Italy, with Prof. Antonio Colombo, an internationally acclaimed interventionalist, where he gained further experience in complex coronary angioplasty and stenting. Dr. Khogali specializes in General Cardiology with sub-specialty accreditation in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (angioplasty/stenting). He has a specialist interest in Left Heart Catheterisation, Coronary Angioplasty, Trans-oesophageal Echocardiography, and Trans-thoracic Echo.
