Dr. Yendamuri received his medical degree in 1997 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He then went on to earn his M.P.H from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina in 1998 before pursuing his internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania which he completed in 1999. His general surgery residency was completed in 2001 at the Medical Center of Delaware, at which time Dr. Yendamuri pursued two research fellowships—one at the Department of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and one at the Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University—from 2001 through 2003.

A second general surgery residency ensued from 2003-2005 at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens/Cornell University in New York, New York. In 2007, after ten years of pursuing his educational training in medicine, Dr. Yendamuri sought a position at an institution that embodied a collaborative approach among physicians and oncologists for treating lung cancer patients—Dr. Yendamuri found that multidisciplinary style of medicine at Roswell Park.

Dr. Sai Yendamuri is a thoracic surgeon who currently serves as chair of the department of thoracic surgery and director of the thoracic surgery laboratory at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute located in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Yendamuri’s academic posts include professor of oncology at Roswell and associate professor of surgery at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York, also located in Buffalo.
