Sahar Mohamed Abdel Maksoud MSc, PhD

Dr. Sahar is a Professor of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology at the German University in Cairo (GUC). Graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, M.Sc. Biochemistry, Cairo University, and Ph.D. at Azhar University. She has been promoted to Professor of biochemistry by the supreme council of universities. She has many international publications in the field of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity.

She is a co-author in an article in the Book “Biomarkers in Cardiovascular Disease, Edition: 2016, and in the book "Determination of Mercaptopurine metabolites and toxicity in children”, Edition 2017. She was one of the Research team of Prof. Mohamed Zakaria Gad in the German University of Cairo who received STDF grant from National Academy of Science. She is a Member of several scientific societies, reviewer to several scientific journals. Instructor and organizer of many workshops in the GUC for the students in Conventional, real-time PCR, proteomics, stem cells and clinical nutrition. Her Research interest is in the field of obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome, and clinical nutrition.
