Sagar is a breast medical oncologist and researcher who joined the Division of Medical Oncology in 2016 after fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Indiana University. He have a proven track record of academic and clinical excellence. He earned his medical degree in Mumbai, India and his master’s degree in public health at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He completed a general internal medicine internship at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine – State University of New York before embarking on his fellowship training at IU. He was rated in the top 10 percent of physicians in the nation for patient satisfaction in 2017.

His research involves identifying predictive biomarkers in BRCA gene-mutated tumors and triple-negative breast cancers. He also have research interests in women who are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancers, and in the correlation between breast density and obesity in healthy women. He have published manuscripts in scientific journals and presented original articles at national conferences. He is a reviewer for multiple medical journals and a member of several medical organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Hematology and American Medical Association.
