Dr. Sagar Raiya had been a state topper in pre-medical entrance in Maharashtra and completed his MBBS and MD in Pulmonary Medicine from the prestigious institute Seth G S Medical College & K E M Hospital, Mumbai under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. He pursued further training and was awarded a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Respiratory Medicine from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. Dr. Raiya’s interest in Interventional Pulmonology led him to a Fellowship program in Interventional Pulmonology & Thoracic oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Rajiv Goyal at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute Delhi, accredited by Indian Association for Bronchology (IAB) and Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Dr. Sagar Raiya has published scientific publications in PubMed-indexed journals. He has presented abstracts of his research at national and international meetings like NAPCON, BRONCOCON, and the European Respiratory Society Conference, in Italy (2017), and has received awards for his research presentations. He has been awarded European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) in Milan, Italy 2017. Dr. Raiya’s research also awarded him Indian Chest Society Travel Grant for ERS, Italy (2017)

Dr. Sagar Raiya has a keen interest in Asthma & allergy, COPD, Lung infections including MDR TB and XDR TB, Sleep-related breathing disorder, and interventional bronchoscopy. He has teaching experience with medical students, resident doctors, and paramedical staff at K E M Hospital (Mumbai), RGCI & RC (Delhi). He is associated with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) as Specialty Medical Consultant Chest Physician. Apart from diagnostic bronchoscopies, he has done numerous various interventional procedures including Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS - TBNA) of mediastinal lymph nodes, Medical thoracoscopy, Foreign body removal from airways, cryo-biopsies, tumor debulking, tracheobronchial stent insertion, Indwelling pleural catheter for malignant pleural effusion and talc pleurodesis.
