Safia Mahomed is a senior lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence, at UNISAs College of Law. She is an admitted attorney in the North Gauteng High Court and practiced as an attorney until the end of 2011. In 2012 she began her academic career and completed her Master’s degree which focused on Biotechnology Law, through UNISA. In 2018 she completed her Doctoral degree at the Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand. Safia is the Chair of UNISAs Biotechnology and Medical law Flagship.
