Sabrina Smith is a pediatric neurologist, which means that she takes care of infants and children with conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, or muscles. She has been interested in understanding how the brain works since. She was drawn to pediatric neurology as a profession so that she could demystify neurologic conditions while improving the quality of life of his patients and their families. She is continually impressed by the optimism and resiliency of children, and she enjoys supporting their development and well-being. She derives great satisfaction from her daily encounters with her patients and their families, and she strives to work as a team with her patients, their families, and other medical professionals.
Before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2011, She was an academic physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. While there she conducted research on neonatal and pediatric stroke, including studies of the cognitive effects of brain injury in children. She also helped to develop a pediatric stroke program and ran a clinic for infants and children who have experienced a stroke. She enjoys all aspects of pediatric neurology, but she continues to have a special interest in childhood stroke and neurologic conditions affecting newborns. She chose to join Kaiser Permanente so that I could focus on providing high-quality care to children with neurologic conditions.
Sabrina grew up in Colorado, and She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in psychology. She then lived in Helsinki, New York, San Francisco, and Philadelphia before moving to the East Bay. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the natural beauty of the Bay Area with her husband and two sons. She looks forward to working with you and your child.
