Saam Morshed MD, PhD, MPH

Dr. Saam Morshed is an orthopedic trauma surgeon who specializes in treating broken bones and fractures at the Orthopaedic Institute at Mission Bay. He treats patients with breaks and fractures of the pelvis, arm, elbow, shoulder, ankle, foot, leg and knee. In his research, he studies skeletal injuries to develop new techniques for fracture repair and rehabilitation as well as prevention of post-traumatic arthritis.
Morshed earned a medical degree at the UCSF School of Medicine, where he completed an orthopedic residency. He completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, AO North America, Foundation for Orthopaedic Trauma and the Institute for Global Orthpaedics and Traumatology. He is an associate professor in residence in orthopedic surgery at UCSF.
