Saad Ghazal-aswad MD, DFFP, MRCOG, FRCOG, PhD, FFPH (RCP-UK)

Dr. Aswad obtained his MD from Aleppo University, Syria in 1980. Subsequently, he did his post-graduate training in O&G in the UK and became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist in 1988 and a Fellow in 2000. He pursued further subspecialty training in Gynecological Oncology (Gateshead, UK) and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne, the UK in 1994. Prior to moving to the UAE, he was a Senior Consultant in the Northern Region of England and Lecturer at the University of Newcastle Upon-Tyne, UK.

Over the last fifteen years, Dr. Aswad has been providing nationwide Gynecological Oncology Services in Tawam Hospital, UAE. In recognition of his significant contribution to maternal health issues in UAE, Dr. Aswad was awarded distinction Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of United Kingdom. Apart from the FFPH, he was awarded the Clinical Service Distinction Award (CMHS, UAEU), Best Department Award in UAE Hospitals (Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences), Outstanding Contribution to Medical Education in the Middle East (Arab Health) and many other UK national awards.

Dr. Aswad has more than sixty full papers and abstracts published in National and International Medical Journal and Conference Proceedings, four book chapters and nine educational videos. Dr. Aswad is an active member of many National and International Scientific Societies.
