Alam Hannan was a 5 year old self impressed enough to adopt a head mirror professionall but Alam Hannan seriously started pursuing a career in ENT after being awarded the Negus-Cawthorne Prize in Otorhinolaryngology as a medical student at King’s College London, and then the national undergraduate prize of the British Association of Otorhinolaryngologists - Head & Neck Surgeons. Basic surgical training at Barts & The London NHS Trust included rotation in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Higher surgical ENT training within the London Deanery (North Thames) included rotations through centres of clinical and teaching excellence, including in order Northwick Park, St. Bartholomew’s, Royal London, St. Mary’s, Great Ormond Street, Charing Cross, Chelsea & Westminster, Royal Brompton, and last but not least Royal Free and Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospitals. Alam Hannan was since remained at RNTNEH, gaining Alam Hannan Certificate of Completion of Training in 2008, entering the Specialist Register (GMC No. 4473840), and being ultimately appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon in 2009.

Alam Hannan currently offer a full general elective and emergency ENT service for adults and children at RNTNEH and University College Hospital, and collaborate to provide and expand subspecialised Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery, as well as support Paediatric ENT, at spoke sites viz. Royal Free and Edgware.

Alam Hannan was formally registered as an Assigned Educational Supervisor on the Intercollegiate Surgical Curriculum Programme, and as a Foundation Educational Supervisor on the NHS ePortfolio. Being trained in a variety of innovative teaching styles and assessments, Alam Hannan aim to engender reflective practice and lifelong learning in my trainees and students. Alam Hannan was most passionate about simulation-based ENT training, and have assisted in developing and teaching on such courses within the London Deanery and at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
