Ryan M. Levy, MD, is a thoracic surgeon at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Dr. Levy specializes in minimally invasive esophageal surgery, minimally invasive lung surgery, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, paraesophageal hernias, diaphragm hernias, lung nodules/masses, endoscopic management of Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer, diseases of the pleura, mediastinal tumors, tracheal disorders, and inflammatory responses to tissue injury.
Dr. Levy is board-certified in general surgery. He received an undergraduate degree at The University of Notre Dame in Ind., and a medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Levy has completed residencies in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at UPMC, as well as an advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgery fellowship under Dr. James Luketich at UPMC. Following his training, Dr. Levy spent three years as Dr. Luketich's partner at UPMC Presbyterian and Hillman Cancer Center.
Dr. Levy is a member of professional organizations, including Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the Allegheny County Medical Society.
