Ruth Oratz, M.D., F.A.C.P. is clinical professor of medicine at New York University School of Medicine. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Oratz graduated magna cum laude from Radcliffe College/Harvard University and received her M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then completed her post-doctoral training in internal medicine and medical oncology at the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Oratz has been active in clinical research and is widely published in her field. She is a member of the Breast Cancer Research Committee of US Oncology and also teaches medical humanities and bioethics at the New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Oratz is the founder of the former Women's Oncology & Wellness Practice in New York City where she specialized in treating women with breast cancer and other malignancies, as well as women at risk for cancer. Currently, she sees patients at the New York University Perlmutter Cancer Center.
