Ruth Massey PhD

Dr Massey is moving from her current role as Reader in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Bath and will begin her new role as Reader in Microbiology in CMM from 1 July 2017.Dr Massey's career began with her gaining a PhD at Trinity College Dublin, from there she moved into roles at the Universites of Oxford and Bath. The focus of my research is on understanding how bacterial pathogens such as MRSA cause disease in humans and how antibiotic resistance affect this.

What has specifically attracted me to CMM is both the world class researcher facilities, but more importantly the collegiate environment with a core focus on tackling the global challenge of antimicrobial resistance."
