Russell Roberts has been a consultant physician in renal medicine in Bradford since 2001, having completed training in Cambridge, London, and the northeast of England. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leeds’ School of Medicine. He is the training program director for renal medicine in Yorkshire and the Humber, chair of the Standard Setting Group for the Nephrology specialty certificate examination (SCE), and a member of the Royal College of Physicians’ specialty advisory committee.

Dr. Roberts gained his MB BChir degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from the University of Cambridge in 1990 and gained a Diploma of Medical Science in 1994 from Newcastle University. Dr. Roberts took up the post of consultant nephrologist in 2001 and was until recently the clinical lead in nephrology. He is also Associate International Director for the Royal College of Physicians. Dr. Roberts has published papers in peer-reviewed journals and is co-author of a book chapter. He has been a principal investigator in historic studies and is a sub-investigator in current studies.
