Ruma Dutta have been Hon Sec for 3 years, organizing extremely popular and much appreciated biannual conference attracting CPD from the RCP for the Regions Consultants and Registrars. Now I am England Council rep for the West Midlands, and help to mould national policy. This demonstrates my passion for enhancing the work and image of my specialty, which provides robust and comprehensive care for the largest section of Society. The Geriatrician is ideally placed to be able to reduce costs and admissions and improve care for this population by a judicious presence in many so-called interfaces. This is recognised nationally and regionally on the basis of evidence and precedent. Good care is Cheaper care.
