Rukmanikanthan Shanmugam MD, MS

Dr. Rukmanikanthan completed his medical degree from University of Science Malaysia in the year 2001. Following which he served as a medical officer in the orthopaedic and traumatology unit of Sarawak General Hospital until joining masters in Orthopaedics in University of Malaya. During training, he was entrusted with the position of chief resident and completed training successfully in the year 2009.

He joined University of Malaya as a senior lecturer soon after graduation and has been in the foot and ankle and limb reconstruction unit working hand in hand with Professor Saw Aik and Associate Professor Chua Yeok Pin ever since. He is very experienced in the management various foot and ankle disorders from degenerative conditions to diabetic foot complications. He also has vast experience in managing lower limb deformities and complications of trauma such as non unions and malunions as well as infected non unions. He has a very soothing and caring personality.
