Dr. Wang received his undergraduate training in Precision Instrumentation from Tianjin University, China and his doctoral degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Currently, Dr. Wang is a full professor with appointments in the Departments of Bioengineering and Ophthalmology at the University of Washington, and directs the Biophotonics and Imaging Laboratory.
As an active investigator on multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) and industrial funded projects, Dr. Wang laid groundwork for the development of novel non-invasive biophotonics and imaging techniques relevant to understanding mechanisms by which blood flow and microcirculation processes function in a number of systems.
