Prof. Rudiger von Eisenhart-Rothe (*1971) studied medicine at the LMU Munich and business administration at the University of Hagen alongside his job. In 2006 he completed his habilitation at the Friedrichsheim Foundation Orthopedic University Clinic in Frankfurt. In 2009, he joined the Clinic for Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at the Klinikum rechts der Isar as a senior physician. Since 2012, he has held the chair for orthopedics at the TUM and is director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at the Klinikum rechts der Isar.
Prof. von Eisenhart-Rothe's (*1971) research focuses on regenerative medicine/arthritis research, osteo-oncology and endoprosthetics. The methods used include imaging, virtual planning, and navigation as well as cell and care research. Current focal points within endoprosthetics are the functionalization of surfaces and implant-associated infections, osteoarthritis research the analysis of the effects of different stimuli on the articular cartilage in the bioreactor and sarcoma research virtual planning and navigation, psycho-oncology and the biological reconstruction of musculoskeletal defects.
