Ruben Barakat is a Professor of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Rubén Barakat has twenty years of experience as a university professor with a load of more than three thousand hours, taught in Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. He has also directed nine doctoral theses, sixteen Final Master's Projects, and thirteen Final Degree Projects. Professor Barakat has been Vice Dean of Research and Doctorate at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the Polytechnic University of Madrid in the periods 2007-13 and 2017-21.
Ruben Barakat has written more than one hundred published scientific articles, most of them referring to the study of the effects of physical exercise during pregnancy on maternal, fetal, and newborn well-being. He has prepared more than sixty communications and presentations at Congresses and Scientific meetings. He has carried out twenty-three subsidized Research Projects and Educational Innovation Actions.
In addition, he has fourteen research stays in foreign universities, especially those developed at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), and has participated in National and International Scientific Evaluation Committees.
