Roy Abraham Kallivayalil MD, DPM, MAMS

Prof. Roy Abraham Kallivayalil is Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry, and Vice-Principal, Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Thiruvalla, India. He is: the current President-elect of the World Association for Social Psychiatry; Chair of the WPA Section on Preventive Psychiatry; President National Alliance for Mental Health (NAMH); member of the Board, Asian Federation of Psychiatric Associations; Founding Fellow International College for Person Centered Med (ICPCM); and member, International Advisory Board, Zagreb Institute of Culture and Health, Croatia.

He also was President of the Indian Psychiatric Society (2012-13) and President of the Indian Association for Social Psychiatry and Secretary General, World Association for Social Psychiatry (2010-13). He has received several awards and honours including the Government of Kerala Best Doctor Award (2007), SAARC Psychiatric Federation Award, Kathmandu 2006 and Ramachandra N. Moorthy National Award for distinguished service in the field of Psychiatry. He published a book, "Suicide Prevention: A handbook for Community Gatekeepers" in 2009.
