Ross Dunne MBBS

Dr Ross Dunne is a consultant psychiatrist for older people working in North Manchester with both inpatients and outpatient populations. In Dublin, he was a Health Research Board Training Fellow (2008–2012) then moved to become an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Cambridge (2012–2015) before moving to Manchester to take up a consultant post because he missed the urban decay.

Dr Dunne developed an interest in medical statistics, clinical prediction models and machine learning. His main research focus during training was the neurobiology of depression and cognitive changes in severe depression, as well as ECT. He is now more interested in ethnic minority populations in Manchester and how to get them involved in clinical trials of disease modifying drugs for dementia, for a few of which he is a co-investigator.
