Rosemarie Sellati MS

Rosemarie Sellati currently serves as the Global Patient Advocacy Lead- Clinical Development at Regeneron. She has over 25 years of experience in research, drug development, patient engagement, stakeholder relations, and communications, working with market-leading pharmaceutical companies in Europe and the United States. An immunologist by training, Rose holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the State University of NY at Geneseo and a Masters in Immunology/Microbiology from New York Medical College. She began her scientific career at Boehringer Ingelheim in 1996 as a pharmacologist in immunology and inflammatory diseases where she spent her first 15 years in early drug discovery advancing clinical programs in immunology, oncology, and respiratory therapeutic areas. After identifying the need and value of the patient perspective earlier in the drug development process, she successfully transitioned into a role supporting these efforts in Research and Development, building the infrastructure to integrate patient insights systematically and in a meaningful way. After two decades at BI, Rose ventured into biotech and spent several years as the Global/US Patient Advocacy Lead-Hemophilia at Biomarin. In this role, she support gene therapy for Hemophilia A patients and honed her expertise in early patient engagement before venturing to one of the largest Pharma companies in the industry, Novartis. Serving in another Global role, she successfully led the advocacy strategy across Brand and pipeline for Rheumatology, Dermatology, Immunology, Hepatology, and Transplant. Her notable work in clinical optimization, endpoints, patient-reported outcomes, and patient-based evidence has earned the respect of many advocacy organizations who call on her regularly to speak about the importance of patient engagement early in drug development. Rose has dedicated her life to patients and looks forward to ensuring patient insights are integrated into the drug development process with conscious intent.
