Rosauro Varo Cobos was Born in Cordoba in 1982, he is a pediatrician, researcher, and volunteer. He has worked in countries such as India, Peru, Costa Rica, South Africa, Malawi, the Central African Republic, Mozambique and Morocco. He has a PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona and has also completed master's degrees in Literary Creation and in Comparative Studies of Literature, Art, and Thought from the Pompeu Fabra University. In his hometown, he was co-founder of the literary magazine Cafe con Letras and the gatherings of the same name.

Cobos has collaborated with different local and national media, such as Granta, Mercurio, Revista de Letras, and El País. In addition, he directs the blog Planetas Paralelos in the digital magazine fronterad. He has published the book of short stories El Embudo (Andrómina, 2014) and the novel Plagio (Ediciones en Huida, 2018). He has been awarded the XIV Casa África Essay Prize for his book Africa, racism and Colonialism. A legacy is present in global health (Catarata, 2023).
