As Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship Program, Dr. Lobo is dedicated to training the next generation of Reproductive Endocrinology specialists. He previously served as Chair and Willard C. Rappleye Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), Director of the Center for Reproductive Sciences at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Director of the Sloane Hospital for Women at CUMC. Before coming to CUMC, Dr. Lobo was Professor and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Division at the University of Southern California. His primary research interests are in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, hyperandrogenic disorders such as and polycystic ovary syndrome, and menopause. He continues to carry out extensive research in gamete biology, induction of ovulation, IVF, polycystic ovary syndrome, and estrogen metabolism, and the treatment of postmenopausal women. Dr. Lobo was a founder of the Journal of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation and served as Editor-in-Chief from its inception, as well as served as the President of SGI. In 2010, he became President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and serves on the Executive Committee, among others. He has written approximately 500 peer reviewed articles and is highly sought after, nationally and internationally, for his lectures in these areas.
