Roger Macklis MD

Roger M. Macklis, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is a Staff member in the Department of Radiation Oncology and chaired the department from 1993 to 2005. Board-certified in radiation oncology, his clinical interests include breast cancer, pediatric abdominal tumors, biologically targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy, radiosurgery, lymphomas, and various other combinations of automated and computer-assisted technologies. He lectures widely on all of these topics.

Dr. Macklis has been listed in Best Doctors in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, and Who’s Who in America. He has authored more than 100 articles, book chapters, and textbooks. In addition, he is an active member of numerous professional societies including the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Macklis’s research interests are focused on new approaches to increasing precision in radiotherapy including biological tumor targeting and automated aspects of focal radiotherapy. He also is involved in research on automated systems for error prevention and quality assurance in medicine.
