Dr. Arce’s lab focuses on periodontal research, including projects in oral microbiology, molecular host/pathogen in-vivo interactions and translational clinical studies. Also, the lab is interested in other topics including periodontal disease and its connections with systemic diseases (cardiovascular/pregnancy complications), modulation of inflammatory responses (perio/peri-implantitis), drug/device research and computer-guided implant surgery. The lab aims to play an important role in the continuum of translational research, by ensuring a continuous flow of information and knowledge from the laboratory to the clinical application in patients.
