Dr. Rocky manages the scientific programmes of Prokarium, including the development of vaccine candidates and genetic technologies. Rocky has been working in microbial molecular genetics R&D since 1993. He completed a Ph.D. in genomics of cyanobacteria at Newcastle University in 1997. Later that year he joined Cobra Biologics, where he was based at the University of Oxford and later at Cobra’s headquarters in Keele, Staffordshire to manage the development of new expression technologies for improving the production of recombinant proteins and DNA. Rocky applied the ORT plasmid maintenance system to Salmonella as ORT-VAC and designed vaccine candidates which have been evaluated in several immunological studies. He has invented various genetic technologies and published several papers and patents. Rocky is on the organising committee of the Society for General Microbiology.
