Robin R. Wilson-smith DO, FACOG, FACOOG

Robin Wilson-Smith, DO, FACOG, FACOOG, has been named Medical Director of Gynecologic Oncology Services at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center – Washington Township. Dr. Wilson-Smith joins Jefferson Health from the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.

A 1999 graduate of Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM, formerly UMDNJ-SOM), Dr. Wilson-Smith completed her OB/GYN Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, and at Cooper University Hospital. She then undertook a three-year Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at Cooper University Hospital, which she completed in 2009. As a gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Wilson-Smith specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive system, including cervical, vulvar, vaginal, ovarian and uterine cancers.

As of this year, Dr. Wilson-Smith performed 670 da Vinci robotic surgical procedures. Robotic surgery, often used for gynecologic procedures, can result in a quicker recovery time for patients, along with reduced post-operative pain and less scarring. Dr. Wilson-Smith is experienced in multiport and single-site robotic procedures and also performs complex gynecologic cases, including endometriosis and minimally-invasive adnexal surgeries.

Board certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in OB/GYN and Gynecologic Oncology, she is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists.
