Dr. Roberta Okamoto's research has the focus on understanding the events involved in the bone repair process, especially in conditions when bone metabolism is compromised by systemic interferences like osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, hypertension. Another focus of our research is directed to evaluate biomaterials and their role in bone reconstruction procedures. She develops pre-clinical studies, using in vivo models. their tools are related to immunolabeling of bone matrix proteins, micro Ct analysis, dynamics histometric evaluation through confocal microscopy analysis.
