Robert Sauerwein is a full professor Trained as medical specialist in clinical microbiology and immunology, He have a vested interest in translational research and clinical development of Plasmodium falciparum malaria vaccines. His entire research career that includes lab, clinical as well as field experience in Africa, has been focused on better understanding of malaria transmission and parasite/host interactions. For this purpose they have several types of vaccines in clinical development, improved the Controlled Human Malaria Infection (CHMI) model and several field sites in endemic countries.
