Robert C. Rickert PhD

Robert C. Rickert, Ph.D., has joined the company as Chief Scientific Officer of Rinat, Pfizer’s immuno-oncology research unit within the Oncology Research Group in Worldwide Research and Development. Based in South San Francisco, Dr. Rickert will report to Robert T. Abraham, Ph.D., Group Senior Vice President of the Oncology Research Group. Dr. Rickert joins Pfizer from the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, California, where he was Professor and Director of the Program on Tumor Microenvironment and Cancer Immunology, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and Director of Academic Affairs.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Dr. Rickert was a Professor at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla. Dr. Rickert held several leadership positions at the institute while pursuing his core research interests in B lymphocyte biology and B cell transformation to the malignant state. Dr. Rickert has authored more than 65 scientific papers and reviews and is the recipient of multiple achievement awards including the American Cancer Society Research Scholar Award. Dr. Rickert earned his BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
