Robert P. Frantz, M.D., FACC, is board certified in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. He received his medical degree from Mayo Medical School and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. After completing a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Rochester Medical Center, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, Dr. Frantz joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 1990.

Dr. Frantz is Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic and Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Primary interests include pulmonary hypertension in both WHO Group I, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension and the role of Balloon Pulmonary Angioplasty, and also pulmonary hypertension associated with left heart disease and in the context of Mechanical Circulatory Support and transplantation. He is the principal investigator for the NHLBI Pulmonary Vascular Disease Phenomics project.
