Robert K. Zeman, MD, FACR, is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Radiology. He is the Chair of the Radiology and Radiation Oncology Department, Director of the Residency Training Program and a professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He has a wide range of interests in thoracoabdominal imaging including cardiovascular MR, coronary CT angiography, peripheral vascular CTA, and nuclear cardiology. In addition, he also is closely involved in abdominal imaging, oncologic CT, and PET/CT efforts of the Radiology Department.
Dr. Zeman received his doctorate in Medicine from the Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1976. He completed his residency and fellowship training at the Yale New Haven Hospital in 1980, and has held faculty appointments at Yale and Georgetown University, and was chairman at the University of Vermont prior to his arrival at George Washington in 2000.
Dr. Zeman has held numerous positions in organized radiology. He has chaired the CT Accreditation Program for the American College of Radiology (ACR), serves as a member of the Quality and Safety Commission, and has participated in numerous task forces on radiation safety. He currently is an at-large member of the ACR Council, the ACR’s governing body and is past President of the DC Metropolitan Radiological Society.
