Robert J. Cerfoli

Dr. Cerfolio is a Professor of Surgery and Section Chief of Thoracic Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UAB. He is an internationally recognized expert in thoracic surgery. Dr. Cerfolio received the James H. Estes Family Lung Cancer Research Endowed Chair in 2010. He is a past President of the Southern Thoracic Surgery Association (STSA). Dr. Cerfolio is recognized as a leading expert in robotic thoracic surgery; he has personally mentored scores of thoracic surgeons in this modality. Dr. Cerfolio received his MBA degree in December, 2013. Recently, he completed his first book: Super Performing at Home and at Work: The Athleticism of Surgery and Life.
