Robert G. Kaplan, MD, FACP, CMD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, and is a Certified Medical Director. He has an extensive background in Long-Term Care, and serves as a Multi-Facility Medical Director and Attending Physician. He also recently assumed the position of Associate Medical Director, Optum (formerly Evercare), Florida. He is the former President of the Florida Medical Directors Association.

He is also a member of theAmerican Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine , currently serving as Vice-Chair. For the past several years he has been an AMDA Faculty member teaching the Core Curriculum, and assumed the position of Course Director in January 2014.

Dr. Kaplan is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, was a practicing Internist for approximately twenty years, and is a former Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Medical Staff President of South Seminole Hospital in Longwood, Florida. A graduate of New York University and the University of Brussels School of Medicine, Dr. Kaplan completed his residency at the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York.
