Robert Arthur Dudas MD

Dr. Robert Dudas is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and also completed his pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins. He is currently the Chief of Academic Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg. He previously served as the Director of Hospital Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical center as well as the assistant director of medical student education for the Department of Pediatrics. He served as the Helen Taussig College Faculty Co-Leader of the Colleges Advisory Program in the School of Medicine.

As the Chief of Academic Pediatrics, Dr. Dudas is actively engaged in program development and integration efforts underway at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. In this role, Dr. Dudas will be responsible for creating a nationally recognized general pediatric and adolescent medicine clinical and educational program and will further develop the academic culture by mentoring junior faculty and residents and developing a pediatric hospitalist medicine fellowship. He is also the Associate Director of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine for the school of medicine.

His research interests include medical education with a focus on clinical skills development, simulation, and learning technologies. His scholarly activity includes more than 25 peer-reviewed articles and educational materials and 60 national presentations, posters, and workshops.

In 2015, Dr. Dudas was awarded the Academic Pediatric Association (APA) Teaching Award for Faculty as well as the 2015 APA Teaching Program Award for his role in the Harriet Lane Pediatric Medical Education Program. In 2014, Dr. Dudas was awarded the Teaching and Education Award from the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics. He has also been the recipient of numerous institutional teaching awards, including the Outstanding Achievement in Education Award (2013) and the Berkheimer Faculty Education Scholar Grant (2012), both from the Institute of Excellence in Education.
