Robert Daniel Odze, MD, FRCPC, is a Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology Division at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. Odze has a long-standing commitment to gastrointestinal pathology, research, and education. He is the senior editor and author of the largest and most comprehensive textbook of GI, liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic pathology worldwide, which is currently in its 3rd edition (2015).
Dr. Odze is currently associate editor of the IBD journal, and previous associate editor of The American Journal of Gastroenterology, and serves on the editorial board of many pathology journals. Dr. Odze has directed many international courses in GI Pathology including those presented at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) and International Association of Pathology (IAP) annual meetings. Dr. Odze's research focuses on the pathogenesis of neoplastic precursors of the GI tract, particularly Barrett's esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease. In this capacity, he has published over 400 scientific papers, editorials, reviews, and book chapters.
