Dr. Robert D. Suh is a board-certified physician specializing in diagnostic and interventional radiology at UCLA Health. He serves as a Professor of Radiology and holds key leadership roles, including Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program and Director of Thoracic Interventional Services.
Dr. Suh earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his internship in internal medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center, followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He further pursued fellowship training in vascular and interventional radiology as well as thoracic imaging.
Clinically, Dr. Suh focuses on thoracic imaging and minimally invasive image-guided procedures, particularly in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases such as lung cancer, pulmonary nodules, and chronic lung conditions. His expertise includes advanced techniques like lung biopsy and tumor ablation therapies.
His research centers on innovative thermal ablation technologies for treating pulmonary malignancies, as well as improving imaging and biopsy techniques for lung disease. He collaborates extensively with multidisciplinary teams in thoracic oncology and imaging research. Dr. Suh has been widely recognized for his clinical excellence and teaching contributions, earning honors such as Southern California “Super Doctors” and multiple awards for outstanding resident education at UCLA.
