Robert Eckles, DPM is the Dean of Clinical Studies and Associate Professor, Department of Orthopedics and Pediatrics at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Eckles' special podiatric interests lie in sports medicine, running in particular, but also in fixed position sports such as skiing, skating and cycling. His practice life has been a combination of teaching and clinical practice, and has included two states - NY and California, as well as New Zealand, where he learned about non-surgical podiatric medicine and about sport, reinforcing the homage to podiatry that Dr George Sheehan offered in his 1978 book "Running and Being.”
