Dr. Robert is a Professor of Molecular Cell Biology and leader of a membrane protein research group and research center. He is recognized internationally as a major contributor to the core knowledge base of renal epithelial cell physiology and nephrology with landmark achievements in the field of urea transporters, aquaporin water channels and various renal cotransporters.

His current research focuses on the molecular regulation of renal membrane proteins important for blood pressure control and water balance. He Published over 180 peer-reviewed manuscripts and accomplishments are recognized by numerous competitive national and international awards, including major awards from the Renal Section of the American Physiological Society and the Nordic research community, including the Danish Ministry of Science and Education Elite Research Prize and the Anders Jahre Prize for Young Researchers.
