Dr. Hamid is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with special interest in Female & Neuro-Urology. He works at University College London Hospitals incorporating the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and London Spinal Injuries Unit, Stanmore. He is also a Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL where he completed his doctoral thesis evaluating fertility in spinal cord injury men.

He has widely published on various aspects of urological diseases with about 50 peer reviewed publications. He has authored a number of book chapters. He is regularly invited to lecture and teach on various international meetings.

He runs the teaching programme for all Urological trainees in London and the South East of England and regularly reviews publications for a number of Urological journals.

He specialises in the treatment male and female voiding dysfunction, urinary incontinence and overactive bladder. He is an expert in the use of Botulinum toxin and sacral neuromodulation for bladder dysfunction. He performs surgery for all types of incontinence including slings and tapes and artificial urinary sphincters. His particular interest is in the management of bladder problems after neurological diseases.
