Dr. Riya Moodley is a South African-trained, specialist physician in Internal Medicine with extensive experience in Infectious Diseases. During the past 9 years of her clinical career, she has accumulated significant experience in the management of infectious diseases, specifically HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Her clinical practice also included the management of Healthcare-associated Infections, Infection Prevention, and Control measures, and Surveillance for Antimicrobial Resistance.

She has also completed a Master’s degree in Public Health and Control of Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has done so in order to further her interest in policies, programs, and practices that can better serve patients and communities in disease areas that healthcare systems typically struggle to deal with.

Her last role was at the Medical Research Council’s Clinical Trials Unit (part of University College London) where she worked as a Trial Physician and Medical Monitor for the STREAM Trial - a randomized controlled trial investigating new regimens for the treatment of MDR-TB.

She is currently based at ViiV Healthcare where she is a Trial Physician and Medical Monitor on HIV trials in my role as a Clinical Development Lead.
