Rima Dafer, MD, MPH, is a Professor of neurological sciences at Rush University and an active member of the stroke team at the Rush University Medical Center. She is a stroke and headache expert, mainly studying the link between migraine and stroke. She has been a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials in acute stroke intervention and secondary stroke prevention. She sits on the American Board of Vascular Neurology Examination Committee, is a fellow at the American Heart Association, and is a past member of the Michael Pessin award at the American Academy of Neurology.

She is a clinical educator and has received numerous teaching accolades as the best teacher of the year from neurology residents and medical students. She has written numerous articles and chapters on stroke management, stroke in young adults, and uncommon causes of stroke.
