Richard R. Barakat MD, FACS

Dr. Richard R. Barakat is the 2014-2015 President of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. He serves as the Deputy Physician-in-Chief for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Regional Care Network and Cancer Alliances in New York City. He is a nationally and internationally known surgeon and clinical investigator who specializes in advanced robotic and laparoscopic surgery for uterine cancer and radical procedures for debulking ovarian cancer. Dr. Barakat is also a member and examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, served as the Vice Chairman of the Cancer Prevention Committee of the Gynecologic Oncology Group for five years, and is the President-Elect of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society.
