Richard Oliver BSc, BDS, FDS RCPS, FDS

Dr. Richard Oliver was previously Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Oral Surgery at the University Dental Hospital in Manchester where my clinical practice and research have been largely in the field of dental implants, bone grafting and major oral surgery. I have published over 50 papers, co-authored a textbook and have recently been appointed to the Editorial Board of Dental Update. I am an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and on the Advisory Board for Oral Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am an examiner and on the committee for the post-qualification certificate in Dental Sedation for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

Under the close direction of Finlay and Steve on the clinical (prosthodontic) side and Rowan on the technical side, I place the dental implants at the practice. Without exception, all of the patients have a full implant work up often involving a cone beam CT scan and computer aided planning using radio-opaque guides. In addition, I perform sinus lifts and augmentation procedures to fulfil functional and aesthetic needs. All of the implants placed at the practice are done so with the end restoration in mind, according to the mock up fabricated by Rowan, with the input of Finlay and/or Steve.
