Richard Kobza studied at the University of Zurich until 1995, where he also promoted in 1996. The training as a specialist for internal medicine (2002) and cardiology (2004) took place at the Kreisspital Muri (AG), the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, the University Hospital of Zurich and the heart of the University of Leipzig. He was trained as an interventional electrophysiologist at the heart of the University of Leipzig. He continued research in the field of cardiac arrhythmia after his return to Switzerland.
On January 1, 2010, he was appointed Chief Physician at the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital. His clinical focus is on the interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmia. In March 2011, the University of Zurich gave Richard Kobza the Venia legendi as a private lecturer in the field of cardiology.
