Dr. Richard Ehrlichman is a board-certified plastic surgeon who received his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in 1976 and went on to receive his M.D. from The Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1980. He completed a surgical internship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and did his surgical residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, both in Boston. His plastic surgery residency training took place at Mass General Hospital.

Following his residencies, he went on to become the staff surgeon in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Lahey Clinic Center in Burlington, MA. There, he was also the Director of the Residency Program and Head of the Melanoma Clinic. From 1992 on, he was on staff at Wellesley Hospital in Newton, at the BI Deaconess, Boston, at the Needham Hospital in Needham, and at the University Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Ehrlichman was a surgeon with the Plastic Surgery Specialists in Wellesley, MA from 1992 - 2012, and is a member of the Division of Trauma, Burn and Surgical Critical Care at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. For over 30 years, Dr. Ehrlichman has maintained an active role in medical research through a number of research fellowships. His most recent research has focused on peripheral nerve regeneration at the Nerve Tissue Culture Lab of the Lahey Clinic Medical Center. Dr. Ehrlichman is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and recently returned from deployment in Afghanistan.
