Richard Gerard Mahr MD

Richard Mahr, MD, has worked for Health Partners in Minnesota since 1994, first as a primary care physician and for the last 14 years as a hospitalist at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. His clinical duties include teaching and supervising residents and medical students from the University of Minnesota Medical School on medical inpatient and consultation services.
For eight years he has been Medical Director for Performance Improvement and Experience at Regions, and he heads a team that joined the Safety Learning System collaborative in 2016. Dr. Mahr most enjoys improvement work and teaching that foster effective communication and collaboration within and between teams and encourage empathy, candor, and compassion.
